September already, this year seems to be flying past. Things have been super hectic recently with new projects behind the scenes as well as working on the upcoming Stitches and Glue website. We currently have a waiting list on our Bespoke plush art Monsters, but are frantically working through it. New characters will soon drop in October as well as a few other bits and pieces. But for now back to the workshop.

An exact scaled dowversion of our larger demon puppets.

A unique piece of art, with no two ever being the same. Hand sculpted features. Armatured arms and legs to allow for manipulation. Measuring 11" high by 23" hand to hand.

Update from Oli- Monster Workshop

Oli's owner, Gillian dropped us a line with an update on how he has been doing since she adopted him in August last year.

'Oli, after just a couple of weeks recovering from jetlag (I know Ireland isn't that far to go but for a little fella like him it was pretty intence)and travelsickness from his journey began to feel right at home with me.

He has become a dab hand in the garden and is at the moment checking to see how his newly planted tomatoe plants are coming along. He is also found with his head firmly stuck in my CD player as he loves music.You should see him "bustin the moves".....pretty hilarious'.

'Smile' is a collaborative group show displaying works in various media including acrylic, oil, photography, new media, performance and installation. The exhibition 'Smile' aims to act as a cultural antidote to the recent global depression, natural disasters and a general mood of despondency. Smiling is a universal act, yet there have not been many reasons to do so lately. In the greater scheme of things one often forgets the little moments in life that make us smile and thus happy.

This forthcoming exhibition aims to challenge people to step out of their busy consumer driven life styles to take a split second to 'stop and stare' and to hold the moment and smile: here the true sense of smiling is in store not the 'fake' one so often dished out without meaning.

The art work shown portrays subtlety rather than shock value seen in recent mainstream exhibitions, the latter tending to alienate, rather than involve, the viewer.

Each artist participating in this show has their own way to express happiness and this exhibition demonstrates that no matter where one comes from, one can always find a reason to smile. With a feeling of anticipation, we hope that who ever visits 'Smile' will walk out with a smile, perpetuating a 'feel good factor'; well, at least for a brief moment…..

Here's an Exclusive preview at some new faces at the adoption centre due for release. Mohi, Ump, Tonk and Ebi are now available to pre-order! Order today and receive a complimentary signed print, worth £15! (offer available til the end of October.)

Mohi measures in at 10x20", and is priced at 42.95, with super soft brown fur. Our four legged friend Tonk measures 9x9x11", and priced at £44.95. The big guy Ump measures 14x26", priced at £44.95 and one of our new mini monsters, Ebi, who measures 6x17" and is priced at £19.95.

All of these monsters, with the exception of Tonk, have arm armatures allowing them to be bent into different positions.

Monsters come complete with their very own adoption pack, which includes details of their unique story, tips on the monsters first few days at their new home, adoption certificate and stickers.

These generally inhabit woods, swamps, and brushy areas that afford them cover; they are more nocturnal in their habits than other monsters and their characteristic long arms allow them to be competent tree climbers.

I've been waiting for the release of this stop-frame film for quite some time, written and directed by Henry Selick, who also diected the 'Nightmare before christmas'. I wasn't dissapointed, it was visually tasty! The story took a little while to get goin but I'd recommend to go see it and deffinately check out its website: http://www.coraline.com/.

To celebrate the release of the film, nike has made a limited run of custom 'dunks' which can be won through the coraline website. I'm a bit of a sneaker freak, so i'm off to try and nab a pair!!

Arthur and the Invisibles

Over the last few weeks i've been busy with some exciting character costume work for the Cannes Film Festival. Working alongside talented makers at the Jelly Head 3D studio on reproducing some of the main characters from the hit film Athur and the invisibles, directed by Luc Besson.

The costumes celebrate the sequal being previewed at the cannes Film festival.
I worked mostly on the prop side of things for the king character, this included the body armour and the staff. As well as a dagger, buttons and belts for a number of the other characters pictured.
